they tried real hard to copy the gritty wittiness of the original Max Payne, and failed just as hard. I understand that all the shaking and the occasional visual glitch effect is intended to convey the perma-drunken state of the player character, but WTF? I GOT IT ALREADY, NOW STOP IT, MY HEAD HURTS! Dialogue. While we're at it, the camera just drives me nuts. For extra fun, you can't even quit the damn game while it's playing, either - the only button you have is to pause it (thanks for that! no, seriously, after the first 2 minutes of that intro I went and made some tea so I could have something to do while watching the rest of it). I do not know what really impressed them in this toy. That's my own opinion, and I totally disagree with the critics. Rockstar earned large profits from this game due to the older versions, but also lost the confidence of many fans. I finally realised that the whole game is big failure. Still nothing, nothing impressing or new, nothing unique. I said maybe it's just the beginning, the game will improve in the next chapter. I have no interest in doing the time attack, new york minute, or multiplayer modes. And instead of using bullet time just about anytime you want you stick to taking cover over half the time. Max will sometimes run at regular pace even while aiming which throws me off completely. The controls were also off and very annoying for me at times. The storyline didnt even come close to matching the first or the second game.
